Changes

We have been going through some changes lately. We have upgraded Gabriel to his own single bed on the floor from his cot. He hadn't been sleeping in his cot for a while as he was always climbing into our bed. So in our attempt to reclaim our bed back, we got him his own bed with animals and fishes bedsheets. It worked to a certain extent. He doesn't climb up to our bed anymore in the middle of the night. Instead, he comes and pulls me down to his bed. :) sigh... so on some nights when I am too tired, I sleep with him in his bed. And Fred gets the whole big bed for himself.

Drinking his milk in his favourite position.

We have started staying at our own flat about a month ago. We've had this place since we got married but moved back to Fred's parents' place after Gabriel. So our place was left to collect dust for a long time until last month when we decided that it was time to give the place some life. So, we got it vacuumed and cleaned, and we got another bed for Gabriel with a new bedsheet. Since then we've been going back there to stay for 3-4 days every week. Gabriel enjoys it, I think. I like it too. He gets to be a bit more independent. He can play by himself for about an hour or so with occasional "Mummy?", just to check that I'm still around. He is also less hyper and less stimulated, so there's less screaming and shouting too. Maybe the place is smaller, so it's easier for him to "sense" my presense. He sleeps slightly better too and doesn't wake up as often during the night. Hopefully he sleeps through soon and we will put him in his own room. :) But before that we will have to get his room done first. (it is now a storeroom)

We are also currently trying to potty train him. When we are at home he wears his underwear. He hasn't been able to tell me in time about needing to pee just yet. Most of the time he is already wet when he says "sheeshee". But he is getting there, I hope. He stays dry for quite a while and I make him pee every hour. So far there haven't been many "accidents". It's easier to tell when he needs to poo as he will freeze and has a "I need to poo" face. Immediately the potty will come and he sits to do it. He is getting better and will try to warn me before he does it. A few "accidents" have occured when I was not watching. Dirty underwear and sometimes the floor too. Soon, I hope. Then we will be able to save some money from diapers.

Another headache for me is his teeth, to be more specific, brushing his teeth. He used to let me brush a little and he did some brushing on his own. Better than nothing, but these few days he refuses to even let the toothbrush go near his mouth. Imagine all the chicken and meat bits, vegetable and fruit bits all stuck somewhere inside the mouth. Eeewww.. I have stopped letting him drink from his bottle before sleeping. Instead he drinks from a cup before I bathe him to sleep. I have resorted to forcing him down to brush his teeth as I can't take his bad breath anymore. Actually, I'm more afraid of cavaties! Better a screaming baby than cavaties right?

Well, that's all for now. More updates soon!!

Want to play ball anyone??
